Prince Al Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal of Saudi Arabia has died after spending 19 years in a coma caused by a serious car crash in 2005. Known to many as the “Sleeping Prince,” he had been in an unresponsive state since the accident, which occurred when he was a university student.



The prince, who was the nephew of Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, became a symbol of hope and endurance across the Arab world during his long health battle. His family and supporters often expressed their continued prayers for his recovery over the years.
News of his passing was confirmed on Saturday, with his funeral expected to take place in Riyadh on Sunday.
