Bryan Mbeumo Joins Manchester United in £65m Transfer from Brentford
Manchester United sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for £65 million, boosting their attacking firepower.
The Cameroon star joins after scoring 20 league goals, becoming Amorim’s fourth major summer signing.
Manchester United have completed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford in a deal worth £65 million, with an additional £6 million in potential add-ons. The Cameroon international has signed a contract until 2030, with an option for a further year.

The 25-year-old forward, who had a standout 2024–25 Premier League season, joins United after scoring 20 goals, his highest tally in a single campaign. His performances helped Brentford secure a respectable 10th-place finish, with only Mohamed Salah (29), Alexander Isak (23), and Erling Haaland (22) netting more league goals.

“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams, the team whose shirt I wore growing up,” Mbeumo said in his first statement as a United player.
“My mentality is always to be better than I was yesterday. I know that I have the spirit of character to reach another level here, learning from Ruben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players.”
Mbeumo brings versatility and experience, having played primarily on the right wing but also excelling as a centre-forward. He started every league game for Brentford last season and was one of the Premier League’s most consistent attacking threats.
Since joining Brentford in 2019 from French side Troyes, Mbeumo has made 242 appearances, scoring 70 goals and providing 51 assists across all competitions. His consistent output earned him recognition as one of the top-performing attackers in the league over the past three seasons.
“Bryan’s goals and assists record in the Premier League is exceptional. His remarkable consistency has put him amongst the most productive players in England for the last three seasons,” said Jason Wilcox, Manchester United’s director of football.
“We are delighted to have secured another one of our primary targets ahead of the preseason tour.”
Fourth Signing Under Amorim
Mbeumo becomes the fourth major signing under new manager Ruben Amorim, following the arrivals of Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon, and Enzo Kana-Biyik. The acquisition is part of United’s strategy to rebuild its attacking options with pace, versatility, and goalscoring prowess.
He will link up with his new teammates in the United States, where Manchester United will play three preseason matches:
- July 26 vs West Ham (New Jersey)
- July 30 vs Bournemouth (Chicago)
- August 3 vs Everton (Atlanta)
The US tour is expected to provide a crucial opportunity for Mbeumo to integrate into the squad ahead of the 2025–26 season.
