Jigawa Governor Approves Appointment of Eight New Permanent Secretaries, Redeploys Four Others

Governor Namadi appoints eight new Permanent Secretaries, reshuffles four others across Jigawa’s ministries.

The move aims to boost civil service efficiency and improve governance in key state sectors.

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has approved the appointment of eight new Permanent Secretaries and reassigned four existing ones to new roles across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

This development was confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday in Dutse by the Public Relations Officer of the State Head of Civil Service, Ismaila Dutse. The announcement was signed by the Head of Service, Muhammad Dagaceri.

According to the statement, the redeployment and new appointments are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the state’s civil service and improve governance delivery.

The statement detailed that Sagir Muhammad Sani has been moved from the Ministry for Basic Education to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. In a swap, Muhammad Yusha’u has been transferred from the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning to the Ministry for Local Government.

Additionally, Lawan Muhammad Haruna has been reassigned from the Ministry of Higher Education to the Local Government Service Commission, while Engineer Musa Alhassan Arobade has been moved from the Ministry of Power and Energy to the Directorate of Manpower Development and Training, under the Office of the Head of Civil Service.

Among the eight newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are Garba D. Muhammad, posted to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, and Fatima Aliyu Hadejia, assigned to the Directorate of Salary and Pension.

Other appointments include Baffa Abubakar to the Ministry of Basic Education, Bello Datti to the Directorate of Special Services/Council Affairs, Ibrahim Hassan to the Ministry of Finance, Nasiru Haruna to the Ministry of Power and Energy, Umar Isah to the Civil Service Commission, and Mahmud Isah Ringim to the Ministry of Commerce and Industries.

The Head of Service urged the newly assigned officials to approach their responsibilities with professionalism and commitment, emphasizing that they are expected to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.

The statement concluded by noting that all postings take immediate effect, and the affected officers are to resume at their new stations without delay.
