Kaduna, Qatar Charity Commission New Homes, School and Clinic for Victims of Banditry
Governor Uba Sani commissions new homes for victims of banditry in Kaduna State.
The humanitarian project includes a school, clinic, and mall, offering hope to displaced families.
In a heartfelt ceremony marking a significant milestone in Kaduna State’s recovery from years of insecurity, Governor Uba Sani on Tuesday commissioned Phase One of a major humanitarian housing project for families affected by banditry. The initiative, executed in collaboration with the Qatar Charity Foundation, also includes a new school, health clinic, and shopping mall.

The event was attended by National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and symbolized a renewed commitment to rebuilding lives and restoring dignity to some of the state’s most vulnerable citizens.

“For over a decade, Kaduna State has endured the pain of insecurity and displacement,” Governor Sani stated during the commissioning. “While we’ve made significant gains in security, true recovery must go further; it must deliver hope, healing, and opportunity.”
The newly commissioned homes are part of a broader effort to rehabilitate widows, orphans, and displaced families who have borne the brunt of violent attacks in the state. The addition of a school, clinic, and commercial hub is expected to promote long-term community integration and economic empowerment.

“This is not merely a ceremony,” the governor remarked. “It is a solemn act of healing, a vow honored, a covenant fulfilled. It is our way of telling every widow, every orphan, every displaced soul: you are not forgotten. You are seen. You are honored. We are rebuilding with you.”
Governor Sani described the moment as deeply personal, saying, “Today marks the most consequential moment of my life, not as a Senator or Governor, but as a human being. Every brick laid, every roof secured, every key handed over symbolizes the restoration of dignity. This is about redeeming lives, not political accolades.”
The project is being implemented in phases, with Phase One already delivering several fully furnished housing units and essential public infrastructure. Qatar Charity’s partnership with the Kaduna State Government is seen as a model for collaborative humanitarian response across Nigeria’s conflict-affected regions.

Mallam Ribadu, speaking on behalf of President Tinubu, praised the initiative as a testament to responsible governance and international solidarity. He reiterated the federal government’s support for programmes that address the root causes of insecurity by restoring livelihoods and investing in human capital.
