The Grammy-winning song places her among top Afrobeats stars with Spotify’s prestigious Billion plaque.
Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has reached a big career milestone as her song “Wait For U” with Future and Drake hits over 1 billion streams on Spotify.
This feat places her among the top Afrobeats acts Wizkid, Rema, and Tyla who have also been honored with Spotify’s coveted Billion plaque.
“Wait For U” earned Tems her first Grammy win in 2023 for Best Melodic Rap Performance and made history in 2022 by making her the first African artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
