Nigerian troops repel deadly bandit attack in Niger State after hours of fierce gunfire.

Grateful residents hail soldiers’ bravery as many attackers were killed while trying to flee.

Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully repelled a large-scale attack by armed bandits on Warari community in Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State.

The attempted raid, which took place on Tuesday, led to an intense gun battle lasting over four hours. According to local sources, a significant number of the attackers were killed during the confrontation.

Eyewitnesses said some of the terrorists, while trying to escape on motorcycles, collided with one another in panic and were shot by soldiers.

Residents of Warari identified the assailants as the same group behind recent attacks in the area. However, their renewed attempt to terrorize the community was met with a swift and powerful response from the military.

Though the exact number of casualties has not been officially confirmed, several local sources reported that the death toll among the bandits was high. Authorities are expected to release verified figures soon.

After the operation, grateful villagers came out in large numbers to cheer the returning soldiers. They commended the troops for their bravery and urged them to continue protecting communities from further attacks.

The residents described the soldiers’ actions as heroic and called on the government to keep up the pressure on criminal groups threatening peace in the region.
