APC has appointed Nentawe Yilwatda as its new National Chairman in Abuja.

Yilwatda, who currently serves as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, was nominated by Governor Hope Uzodimma, who also leads the Progressive Governors’ Forum. The nomination was seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen.

Following this, the NEC members present at the meeting approved the nomination through a voice vote.

Yilwatda’s appointment comes at a crucial time for the APC as the party continues efforts to strengthen its political base, especially at the federal level. The development also follows recent defections by governors in some states to the ruling party, further boosting APC’s influence across the country.
