Pete Edochie Says Igbo Men Are Not Built for Politics
Pete Edochie says Igbo men struggle in politics because they reject betrayal and treachery.
He explained this during an interview, noting it’s hard for them to trust again.
Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, sharing his thoughts on why Igbo men often face challenges in Nigerian politics, explained that Igbo Men are not built for politics.

During an interview with Afia TV, Edochie explained that politics demands a level of tolerance for betrayal, which he believes is something most Igbo men are not comfortable with. He said that once an Igbo politician experiences betrayal, it becomes difficult for him to trust again or continue with political allies who let him down.
In his words, “An Igbo man is not a good politician. And I will tell you why, people who are used to politics or the treachery that characterized politics, can overlook a lot of things.
“But the Igbo man is not constituted to condole treachery a second time. If you hurt the Igbo man once in politics, he will never give you an opportunity to hurt him again. He will recoil himself. That’s the average Igbo man.”
“The Igbo man is really not constituted to sustain political treachery. The moment you exhibit treachery in your involvement with an Igbo man, they cut you off. That’s it.”
