Yul Edochie Faces Backlash Over Tribute to Late Hulk Hogan
Yul Edochie is facing backlash over his tribute to late wrestling icon Hulk Hogan.
Social media users questioned his sincerity and brought up past controversial grief statements.
Nollywood actor Yul Edochie is being dragged online following his tribute post to American wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, who reportedly died at 71 from cardiac arrest.
The wrestler’s passing comes just weeks after his wife, Sky Daily, dispelled rumors of him being in a coma, assuring fans his heart was strong amid recovery from several surgeries.
In response to the news, Yul took to Instagram to share his sorrow, calling Hogan a cherished figure from his youth.
“This one pain. What a life. He was our childhood hero. Rest well, Legendary Hulk Hogan,” he wrote.

However, the post was not well received. Numerous social media users slammed the actor, doubting the genuineness of his tribute and pointing out inconsistencies in how he publicly expresses grief.
Commenters referenced Yul’s past controversies especially the backlash over a statement he made last year describing the same year he lost his son as the “best year” of his life.
One user, @orikoejiro, wrote:
“This one pain you, but the year your son died, you said it’s your best year. Don’t worry, Jagaban will fix it.”
Another, @yvonnnash, pointed out perceived hypocrisy:
“You criticized people for only posting tributes when someone dies. Now you’re doing the same? Uncle Tom died the other day you said nothing, but here you are.”
The actor has yet to respond to the wave of criticism trailing his post.
