JAMB Partners FHA to Provide Affordable Housing for Staff Nationwide

JAMB partners with Federal Housing Authority to deliver affordable homes for staff across Nigeria.

Deal supports Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aims to boost welfare and close housing deficit.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) to provide affordable housing units to its employees nationwide.

The initiative, unveiled on July 21, 2025, during the commissioning of the FHA Estate in Ajoda, Ibadan, forms part of the staff welfare program championed by JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede. The announcement was made public through the JAMB Weekly Bulletin issued on Monday, July 28.

According to the bulletin, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between JAMB and the FHA aims to make home ownership more accessible to staff of the examination body, aligning with the broader objectives of the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaking at the commissioning, FHA Managing Director and CEO, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s resolve to close Nigeria’s housing deficit, which is currently estimated at over 550,000 units annually. He emphasized that affordable housing is a critical factor in enhancing the welfare and productivity of public servants.

Also commenting on the partnership, Mrs. Temitope Akintola, Director of JAMB Ibadan Zonal Office, highlighted the importance of long-term welfare initiatives in boosting morale and performance within the public service. “This agreement reflects Prof. Oloyede’s continued commitment to prioritizing staff welfare as a foundation for sustained institutional excellence,” she said.

The bulletin further noted that the housing scheme will be rolled out in phases, allowing JAMB employees to enroll as projects are launched nationwide. While specific details of the MoU have not been disclosed, the agreement is expected to facilitate easier access to quality housing under flexible terms tailored for civil servants.

The Renewed Hope Housing Scheme is a flagship policy of the current administration and is viewed as a key vehicle for addressing Nigeria’s growing housing needs, particularly among middle- and lower-income workers.

By collaborating with the FHA, JAMB joins a growing list of federal institutions seeking to improve employee welfare through structured, long-term housing interventions.
