Governor Nwifuru Suspends Over 80 Top Officials in Ebonyi

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has suspended over 80 senior government officials for failing to attend a key state event.

They face a one-month no-pay suspension and are barred from signing official documents during the period.

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has approved the suspension of more than 80 senior government officials for failing to attend a crucial state event.

In a statement released on Monday, July 28, 2025, the Governor directed that the affected individuals begin a one-month working suspension without salary. They are also not permitted to sign any official document during the suspension. All commissioners are to hand over their duties to their respective permanent secretaries.

The suspension takes effect immediately.
