In a recent interview with Jay On Air, M.I expressed his admiration for the works and growth of young music stars in the Nigeria music industry. This includes the likes Odumodublvck, Blaqbonez, Shallipopi, Ladipoe, and Falz. He made it clear, however, that their success does not make him feel less confident about his own abilities.

He said, “The likes of Odumodublvck, Shallipopi, Ladipoe, Falz are the rappers who are currently making waves, but I have not felt like I’m the old guy in terms of skills. For me as an artist, that part doesn’t affect me. What I care about is if you and I were in the studio, am I with somebody who can outrap me?”

M.I also mentioned how much he appreciates the creative energy of artists like Odumodu and Blaqbonez.

“I love what Odumodu is doing. I love what Blaqbonez is doing. I love their talent but it doesn’t intimidate me,” he added.

The rapper, known as “African Rapper No. 1,” continues to support the growth of Nigerian hip-hop while holding on to his legacy as one of its strongest voices.
