Peller broke down in tears after a pastor accused him of mocking Christianity in a viral video.
Holding a Bible, he defended his faith journey, saying, “I ran to God, but they’re pushing me away.”
Nigerian streamer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has responded emotionally to a video where a pastor publicly criticized him over a viral clip involving gospel singer Ebuka Songs.
The controversy began after Pastor Kesiena Henry Esiri accused Peller of mocking Christianity. In the video that caused the stir, Peller was seen linking up with Ebuka Songs, speaking in tongues and seemingly delivering a prophecy. The pastor did not find the video funny and slammed both Peller and Ebuka.Pastor Esiri went further to claim that Ebuka was not a genuine Christian, recalling a past encounter with him at a church in Warri that he described as a “yahoo yahoo” congregation.
Ebuka Songs quickly replied with his own video, asking why a man of the pastor’s age would say such things. He also defended his outreach efforts, including plans to connect with call girls and club-goers through his ministry.
In a follow-up video, Peller responded, while holding his Bible he opened to John 7:24 and said:“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.”
He explained that life had already been tough for him, and now that he had turned to God, the same people who should support him were pushing him away.
“The world is showing me pepper. I run to God. Now, you servants of God are pursuing me away. Where do you want me to run to I should run to satan?
Peller added that although many members of his family have Muslim names, he has been attending church regularly. He further questioned if the words of God in the Bible (to be preached about) have all been exhausted that the clergy decided to preach about him.
