Nigerian actor Efa Iwara has opened up about his experience with a speech disorder, revealing he was born with a stammer, a struggle that almost led him to give up on his dream of working in entertainment.
Speaking during a recent appearance on the #WithChude podcast, Efa opened up about how the condition affected his self-esteem and communication skills while growing up. He explained that the stammer made it difficult for him to express himself freely, especially in a field that relies heavily on speech and confidence.
However, Efa credited his older brother for helping him manage the condition through patience and encouragement. “Take your time, breathe, think about what you want to say before you say it,” his brother would often tell him, a piece of advice that stayed with him over the years.
