Anambra CP orders manhunt for killers of Fish Magnet boss Ifesinachi Onyekere, vows swift justice.
His body was found after armed men abducted him in Awka; police recover getaway vehicle.
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has ordered all tactical and intelligence teams to intensify efforts in tracking down those responsible for the brutal murder of Mr. Ifesinachi Onyekere.
Onyekere, the Managing Director of Fish Magnet Outlet, was attacked on the evening of July 27, 2025, at his home in Ezinifite village, Okpuno, Awka. According to police reports, he was trailed by armed men, shot in the leg, and abducted. His body was later found, prompting widespread shock and outrage across the community.
Following the incident, a joint team of police officers and vigilante operatives recovered Onyekere’s navy blue Toyota Corolla. The vehicle, which the suspects used to flee the crime scene, was found along the Ukwulu–Igbariam road.
Condemning the act, CP Orutugu pledged that the perpetrators would be brought to justice. “This is a cowardly and senseless act. We owe it to the family, the people of Anambra, and the memory of the victim to ensure that justice is served,” he stated.
The Police Command has assured the public that more updates will be shared as investigations progress.
