Iyabo Ojo Opens Up on Hesitation Over Priscilla’s Baby Shower Amid Media Pressure
Iyabo Ojo admits she nearly cancelled Priscilla’s baby shower over online drama and media pressure.
She later agreed after persuasion from a close aunt, leading to a joyful celebration in Canada.
Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has shared that she was initially hesitant to hold a baby shower for her daughter, Priscilla, and son-in-law, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, due to concerns over media attention and online controversy.
Speaking at the baby shower event in Canada, Iyabo said the extended spotlight following the couple’s elaborate wedding made her wary of planning another public celebration.
“We’ve been doing so much since February, the wedding was long,” she explained. “With all the social media wahala, I didn’t want a baby shower initially.”
According to the actress, it was a beloved family member, Aunty Lola, who persuaded her to go ahead with the celebration.
“Aunty Lola said she wanted to do a baby shower for Priscilla. I was unsure, but she’s that one special aunty I can never say no to,” Iyabo added.
Despite her reservations, the event eventually took place and was filled with happy moments shared by family, friends, and loved ones.
