Governors across Nigeria’s Southwest are working on new strategies to tackle key regional challenges, including food insecurity, inadequate infrastructure, and security threats, while also promoting economic collaboration among the states.

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, revealed this during a visit to the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, at his office in Agodi, Ibadan. Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Abiodun said the visit was part of ongoing efforts to foster cooperation among the region’s leaders.
He stressed the importance of state governments joining forces to address common issues affecting their people. According to him, regular dialogue and collaboration are essential for sustainable development across the Southwest.
Governor Abiodun emphasized the need for integrated planning and policy alignment, noting that the people of the region deserve a better quality of life through improved infrastructure, enhanced security, and a robust food system.
“We must come together as a region to design workable solutions that will bring about meaningful development and economic prosperity for our people,” he said.
