Adeyemi’s appointment, which takes effect in a substantive capacity, comes ahead of the retirement of the current CG, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who is due to leave office on August 13, 2025, upon reaching the statutory retirement age of 60.

A statement released on Wednesday and signed by the Board’s Secretary, Maj.-Gen. A.M. Jibril (rtd), confirmed the development. It noted that until his elevation, Adeyemi served as the Deputy Comptroller General in charge of the Human Resource Directorate at the FFS headquarters in Abuja.

According to the statement, Adeyemi brings a broad range of experience to the role, having previously served in the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service, where he rose through the ranks to DCG.

Throughout his career, he has successfully completed all required in-service training and command courses, including both local and international professional development programs.

He is also affiliated with several professional bodies. These include the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

The Board expressed appreciation to the outgoing Comptroller-General, Engr. Olola, for his exceptional service and the significant milestones achieved under his leadership. His tenure was marked by key reforms and efforts to strengthen the capacity of the Federal Fire Service.
