Nigerian music star Davido has celebrated his father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, for completing a major power project, a 1250-megawatt power plant located in Ajebamidele, Ondo State.
The plant, valued at $2 billion, is expected to support large-scale electricity generation once it becomes fully operational.
According to reports, the facility is not yet active, as it awaits connection to the gas grid. Dr. Adeleke stated that once the plant begins operation, it will create employment for over 2,000 engineers and other technical staff.
Reacting to the development, Davido took to social media to express his excitement. “Na now my life wan begin” the singer wrote, hinting at the personal pride he feels over the achievement.
Dr. Adeleke’s power project marks a major step in private-sector efforts to support Nigeria’s energy sector and provide job opportunities in the region.
