NEMA Receives 139 Stranded Nigerians Repatriated from Niger Republic
NEMA receives 139 Nigerians returning from Niger Republic as part of voluntary repatriation efforts.
The group arrived in Kano and was safely documented and sheltered for temporary accommodation.
As part of ongoing efforts to support the voluntary return of stranded citizens, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has welcomed 139 Nigerian migrants back home from Agadez, Niger Republic.

The returnees arrived in Kano on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, via a Sky Mali flight that touched down at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport at about 7:57 p.m.
NEMA confirmed the arrival in a statement shared on its official X account on Thursday.
Details provided by NEMA’s Kano Operations Office revealed that the group included 22 adult men, 52 adult women, 33 boys, and 32 girls.
The agency noted that all returnees were initially received at the airport, documented, and then moved to Badala Hotel in Kano for temporary accommodation.
“Profiling of the returnees was carried out the next day, July 30, 2025. The reception process was well-coordinated and completed successfully,” the statement said.
The return is part of a broader effort by the federal government and international partners to ensure the safe, dignified, and voluntary repatriation of Nigerians stranded across various countries.
