NNPCL Drills Four Oil Wells in Bauchi, Eyes More Investments in North
NNPCL has drilled four oil wells in Kolmani, Bauchi, as exploration expands in the north.
Director Yusuf Usman says more projects are underway to boost gas access and supply.
A Director at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mr. Yusuf Usman, has disclosed that the company has so far drilled four oil wells in the Kolmani area of Bauchi State. He reaffirmed NNPCL’s dedication to expanding oil and gas exploration activities in northern Nigeria.
Usman made this known during a two-day interactive session on government-citizens engagement hosted by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation in Kaduna on Wednesday.
According to him, the company is now assessing the most suitable technology to adopt for the next phase of drilling operations in the region.
He said, “So far, the NNPCL has drilled four wells in the Kolmani area of Bauchi State and is currently evaluating the appropriate technology to be deployed for the next phase of drilling operations.”
Usman also highlighted NNPCL’s contributions to President Bola Tinubu’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative. As part of this effort, five CNG and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plants are currently under construction in Kogi State. He noted that the plants would help improve gas availability and accessibility across northern Nigeria.
He further outlined some of the company’s recent milestones under the current administration, pointing out that several of these achievements are already benefiting communities in the north and other parts of the country.
