Award-winning Nigerian filmmaker Kemi Adetiba has shared her personal struggle with fibroids, shedding light on the toll it has taken on her health.
She opened up in response to an Instagram post by Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie, who also spoke about her own battle with fibroids. Ini urged medical professionals to work towards finding a cure and offered words of support to women going through the same experience.
Ini wrote, “We NEED a cure for fibroids. In the meantime, I hope every woman dealing with it is hanging in there. Just know that you are not alone.”
Reacting to the post, Adetiba disclosed that after having two surgeries she might be going for another.
She said: “I’ve had surgery twice for this already, and it now seems I might need a third. Sigh.”
