In a post shared via Instagram, Rudeboy questioned why some new artists feel the need to light up before the music even begins. He expressed concern over the increasing trend of smoking being used as a form of image branding, especially when done excessively.

According to him, many of these artists spend more on smoking than they do on eating well, which often shows in their physical appearance. He pointed out that some look unhealthy and are “under pressure,” trying to maintain a certain look.

He advised them to rethink their priorities, saying that spending ₦50,000 on smoking while struggling to afford a ₦1,000 pack of noodles without eggs is not sustainable. In his words, “You’re looking sick.”

Rudeboy added that while it’s their personal choice, they should at least “chop better food” and not pretend smoking is swag or a sign of being stylish.
