NNPCL Bayo Ojulari Appears at Industry Event Amid Resignation Rumors
NNPCL boss Bayo Ojulari spoke at an oil event online amid rumors of his resignation.
Though his position is unclear, he’s still active, and no official update has been given yet.
Amid growing speculation about his possible resignation or dismissal, Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), made a virtual appearance at a key industry event on Monday, August 4, 2025.

Ojulari participated via Zoom at a gathering organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Nigerian Council, held in Lagos. A video shared by attendees showed him delivering a speech remotely. His name was also featured on the official list of keynote speakers for the event, which attracted stakeholders and professionals from across Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
His appearance comes amid widespread rumors that the presidency may have ordered his removal under still unclear circumstances. The speculation has gained traction over recent days, with no formal announcement or clarification issued by either the presidency or the NNPCL regarding the situation.
Despite the uncertainty, Ojulari’s engagement with the SPE event suggests he may still be actively discharging his responsibilities, at least in some official capacity.
As of now, neither Ojulari nor any official spokesperson for the company has made any public comments addressing the swirling rumors of resignation or termination.
