Samklef Debunks ₦20m Group Chat Payment Claim, Says Fighting Won’t Help Mohbad’s Soul
Samklef says VeryDarkMan didn’t pay ₦20 million for Mohbad group chat leak.
He revealed the information came from an insider and urged everyone to stop fighting.
Nigerian music producer Samklef has addressed claims that social media activist VeryDarkMan paid ₦20 million to access private group chat information linked to the ongoing controversy surrounding late singer Mohbad.

In a recent video shared online, Samklef clarified that the leaked chat did not involve any form of payment. He explained that the information came directly from someone within the group and not through any financial transaction.
According to him, VeryDarkMan confirmed that the leak came from an insider. Samklef said, “Verydarkman did not pay anybody 20million to get information regarding the group chat. He said that the person who leaked the chat was inside the group.”
The producer also expressed frustration over the lack of gratitude from both the music industry and Mohbad’s family for his efforts toward seeking justice. He questioned why he should continue fighting when the late singer’s father has remained silent. In his view, it felt like crying more than the bereaved.
Samklef also noted that he had no personal gain in the matter and lamented the insults he received for standing up for the cause. He said people insulted him despite his genuine intention to help and said he took time to reflect on the situation.
“How will you feel if you were in my shoes, where people are insulting you for having a genuine reason to fight for justice,” he asked.
He recalled thinking deeply about the backlash, pointing out that the family seemed unappreciative and that even after the court ruling that cleared Naira Marley and Sam Larry, he did not come online to challenge the outcome.
“I con sit down think about this whole thing, like why we Dey fight, even the family sef no appreciate wetin we dey do, the judiciary said Naira Marley and Sam Larry are free, did you see me online ranting or questioning that decision? The whole industry ganged up against me,” he added.
Wrapping up his message, Samklef urged everyone to end the fighting. He stressed that revenge wouldn’t bring peace and that the late singer’s soul had yet to find rest.
He appealed to all those involved to let go of hostility, noting that constant battles would only prolong the pain. “My brothers revenge is not a solution, because it will keep on dragging on, Mohbads’ soul is not at rest, everyone should cease fire and stop fighting,” he said.
