US to Revoke Student Visas for Those Who Skip Classes or Programs

The U.S. has warned Nigerian students abroad to strictly follow their visa terms or risk cancellation.

Missing classes or quitting school without notice could lead to visa revocation and future ineligibility.

The United States has cautioned international students, including Nigerians, about the risks of violating student visa conditions.

In a post shared on Monday via its official X account, the US Mission in Nigeria said students who abandon their studies, miss classes, or exit their academic programs without proper notice to their schools may face serious consequences.

According to the mission, such actions could result in the immediate revocation of their student visas and may also affect their chances of securing future US visas.

“Always adhere to the terms of your visa and maintain your student status to avoid any issues,” the mission advised.

It stressed that students are expected to remain in good academic standing and inform their institutions about any changes to their study plans to avoid immigration trouble.

“Failure to do so such as dropping out, skipping classes, or leaving a program without informing the school may lead to visa revocation and loss of future eligibility,” the statement added.
