Osun APC Queries Governor Adeleke’s Whereabouts, Demands Clarity on State Leadership
Osun APC demands answers as Governor Adeleke remains absent from the state for two weeks.
Party questions who’s in charge as aides confirm trip to Davido’s wedding in the U.S.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has raised questions over the prolonged absence of Governor Ademola Adeleke, claiming he has been away from the state for over two weeks without formally notifying the public.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the party’s spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, the APC described Adeleke’s absence as unusual and called for transparency regarding who is currently managing the state’s affairs.
“There’s growing concern among residents from commercial buses to roadside conversations about the governor’s whereabouts,” Olabisi said. “As a party, we believe it’s necessary to know where the governor is and who’s been in charge of the government since his departure.”
The party also questioned whether Adeleke officially transferred authority to his deputy, as required by the constitution when a governor is absent.
The APC further alleged that its findings indicate Adeleke left the state quietly after a failed attempt to join the ruling APC.
“Our investigations show that the governor slipped out of the state about two weeks ago, shortly after unsuccessful efforts to cross over to the APC,” the statement added.
In response, Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, confirmed that the governor had travelled to the United States to attend the wedding of his nephew, music star David Adeleke (popularly known as Davido).
“Governor Adeleke travelled via the family’s private jet to attend Davido’s wedding in the U.S.,” Rasheed said. “We welcome the opposition to join in the celebration either in person or virtually.”
He clarified that the governor has not taken any official vacation since assuming office in November 2022 and emphasized that state governance remains uninterrupted.
“This is not a formal vacation. It’s a short trip, and the governor remains in touch with his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, who is currently overseeing government operations,” Rasheed added.
