Zamfara Lawmaker Renovates 80 Cemeteries as Part of Constituency Projects
Hon. Kabiru Amadu has begun renovating 80 cemeteries in Zamfara as part of constituency projects.
He says maintaining burial grounds shows respect for culture, religion, and life’s final destination.
Hon. Kabiru Amadu has launched the renovation of 80 cemeteries across his Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, marking the effort as part of his second-term anniversary initiatives in the House of Representatives.

Speaking at the official flag-off on Tuesday, Amadu said the project was motivated by the deteriorating state of burial grounds within the constituency. He emphasized the cultural and religious significance of maintaining cemeteries, referring to them as “our final homes.”
“We have observed the poor conditions of cemeteries in our communities. This is our collective final destination, and we must honor it with dignity,” Amadu stated. “In Islam, preserving cemeteries is believed to ward off calamities and maintain societal harmony.”
In addition to the structural renovations, the lawmaker pledged to provide monthly stipends for cemetery guards and equip them with necessary tools to maintain the sites effectively.
The initiative was well-received by local leaders. Aliyu Abubakar, the District Head of Tsafe East, commended Hon. Amadu for the project, describing it as a thoughtful intervention that aligns with religious and communal values.
