First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Backs 1,000 Anambra Women with Business Grants
Oluremi Tinubu empowers 1,000 Anambra women with business grants under Renewed Hope Initiative.
She says supporting women entrepreneurs fuels household stability, community growth, and national development progress.
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reiterated her belief that empowering women is vital to achieving sustainable development at all levels of society.

Speaking through the Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, during an economic empowerment program held on Wednesday at the new Government House in Awka, the First Lady emphasized that supporting women entrepreneurs contributes directly to household stability, community growth, and national progress.
The event, organized under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) in collaboration with the Tony Elumelu Foundation and the Anambra State Government, saw 1,000 women benefit from financial grants. Each beneficiary received ₦50,000 aimed at boosting small businesses and trades.
Originally planned to support 500 women in Anambra, the program was expanded to 1,000 beneficiaries with additional backing from Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his administration.
“This seed fund is designed to reignite and sustain the entrepreneurial spirit of women,” Senator Tinubu said in her address. “When you empower a woman, you empower a household, a community, and indeed the future of the nation.”
She commended the Anambra State Government for its continued support of the RHI and urged beneficiaries to use the grant wisely to strengthen their businesses and improve their families’ welfare.
One of the beneficiaries in Awka, Mrs. Janet Asika, a hairstylist from Aguata Local Government Area, expressed appreciation for the support. “This means a lot to me and other women trying to grow our small businesses. We feel seen and supported,” she said.
The program is part of a broader national initiative launched by the First Lady earlier this week in Minna, Niger State, targeting 18,500 women across Nigeria.
