Tiwa Savage Reflects on Love, Says She’s Never Truly Experienced It
Tiwa Savage says she has only felt true love through her son, not in past relationships.
The singer reflects on heartbreak and admits love might not be part of her journey.
Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has opened up about her personal experiences with love, revealing that she has never truly felt it, except for the bond she shares with her son.

The 44-year-old singer shared this during a recent conversation with British media personality Zeze Mills. She noted that looking back at her past relationships, including her marriage, she realizes now that they were driven more by infatuation than genuine love.
“I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son. Because every time I look back at all my relationships, I’m like, nah, that wasn’t love. I was just infatuated. At that time I thought I was in love. I don’t think I experienced true love even when I was married,” she said.
Speaking further, Tiwa admitted that her repeated efforts to find lasting love have left her wondering if love is simply not meant for her in this lifetime.
“Maybe love isn’t for me because I have tried over and over again so maybe love isn’t for me this lifetime,” she added.
Tiwa Savage was previously married to her former manager, Tunji Balogun (popularly known as Teebillz). The couple tied the knot in 2013, but their union ended in 2018 after a series of unresolved issues. Their marriage produced a son, Jamil, whom Tiwa often credits as her greatest love.
