Kano Governor Sacks Two Senior Aides Over Misconduct Allegations
Kano Governor Abba Yusuf has sacked two senior aides over alleged misconduct and corruption cases.
One was linked to a drug baron’s bail, the other to diverted palliative grains.
Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has removed two senior aides, Abubakar Sharada and Tasiu Al’amin Roba, over allegations linked to a drug trafficker and the misuse of palliative items.

In a statement on Saturday, the governor’s press secretary, Musa Tanko, said Sharada, who was Senior Special Assistant on Political Mobilization, was accused of helping to secure the bail of a known drug dealer, Sulaiman Danwawu. He was instructed to return all government property in his possession by August 11, 2025.
Roba, who served as Senior Special Assistant in the Cabinet Office, was accused of rebagging food palliatives meant for public distribution at a warehouse in Sharada in 2024. He is facing charges of theft and criminal conspiracy and has also been ordered to hand over all state assets, including his identity card, by the same date.
The government warned both men not to present themselves as public officials, advising citizens to avoid dealing with them on state matters.
Meanwhile, the state has cleared Musa Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainage, of any wrongdoing after an investigative panel found no evidence against him.
