Over 1.9 Million Apply for 30,000 Federal Jobs, Immigration Service Leads in Applications
Over 1.9 million Nigerians applied for just 30,000 federal jobs in a nationwide recruitment.
Kogi led the list of applications, while Bayelsa recorded the fewest, highlighting intense job competition.
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) says it has received an unprecedented 1,910,539 applications in its ongoing nationwide recruitment, with the Nigeria Immigration Service attracting the largest share.
The recruitment exercise covers four federal agencies and offers only 30,000 available positions, making the chances of success just about 1.57% for each applicant. Submissions came from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Official statistics show that Kogi State topped the list with 116,124 applications, followed by Kaduna (114,500), Benue (110,525), Kano (89,355), and Niger (79,504).
On the other hand, Bayelsa recorded the fewest applications at 11,669, while Lagos had 14,215, Rivers 22,207, Ebonyi 23,601, and Delta 27,956.
The CDCFIB has yet to release the timetable for the next stage, which will include screening and aptitude tests for shortlisted candidates.
