An Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Ogba, Lagos, has acquitted Comfort Emmanson, an Ibom Air passenger earlier accused of unruly behaviour and assaulting airline and airport staff.

Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami dismissed the five-count charge against her on Tuesday after the police requested to withdraw the case.
Emmanson was first arraigned on August 11 by the Airport Police Command over claims that she caused a disturbance on an Ibom Air flight, assaulted a crew member, and acted in a way that could disrupt public order. She pleaded not guilty at the time.
At the recent hearing, Police Prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan told the court that the complainant and the airline no longer wished to pursue the matter. Following police instructions, he applied for the case to be dropped.
The magistrate approved the request and ordered her release, officially ending the trial.
