Davido Pays Emotional Tribute to Late Sound Sultan in ‘10 Kilo’ Video
Davido honored late friend Sound Sultan in his 10 Kilo video, featuring a heartfelt visual tribute.
The scene celebrates plus-size women, echoing Sultan’s 2013 hit Orobo and its empowering message.
Afrobeats star Davido has honored the memory of his late friend and colleague, Sound Sultan, in the visuals for his hit single 10 Kilo.

The music video, directed by Director Pink, features a touching scene where plus-size models dance in front of a large backdrop displaying Sound Sultan’s image. This creative choice ties into the theme of the song, which celebrates plus-size women a nod to Sultan’s 2013 hit Orobo, which carried the same message and was later remixed with Flavour.
Sound Sultan, who passed away in July 2021 after a battle with cancer, is remembered as a pioneer of modern Afrobeats. His catalogue includes classics such as Jagbajantis, Natural Something, Ole, Kokose, Orobo, and Very Good Bad Guy. Over the years, music icons such as 2Face, Burna Boy, Spyro, and Sean Tizzle have honored his memory with heartfelt tributes.
With 10 Kilo, Davido now joins this group of artists, delivering a personal salute that also celebrates the values and artistry Sound Sultan embodied.
