The track became the project’s biggest success, energizing his sold-out North American 5 Alive tour.
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has shared that “With You”, his hit collaboration with Omah Lay, almost didn’t make it onto his latest album *5ive*.
“It almost didn’t make the album… Every time I remember I almost took it off the album, my heart starts beating.“Shout out to Omah Lay. I am glad we were able to collaborate on a true African classic,” he said in an interview with American network ABC.
The song, which became the biggest hit from the project and one of the standout Afrobeats tracks of 2025, has been a highlight of Davido’s ongoing 5 Alive tour. One of its most memorable performances took place at the Scotia Bank Arena in Canada, where the crowd gave a rousing reception.
The tour has been a major success, with 12 venues across North America selling out. To celebrate the milestone, Davido and his team cut a cake after his show at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland, USA.
The 5 Alive tour was briefly paused for his lavish Miami wedding to longtime partner Chioma Rowland, attended by notable figures such as Aliko Dangote, Bukola Saraki, and Alex Otti.
Davido admitted that leaving “With You” off the album would have been a mistake, noting the track’s impact both commercially and culturally since its release.
