Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has visited communities in Kauran Namoda Local Government Area following a wave of bandit attacks that have left dozens dead and many others abducted.

A report by the Zamfara Circle Community Initiative revealed that 144 people were kidnapped, 24 killed, and 16 injured in recent incidents across several LGAs. In July, gunmen in Banga town allegedly killed 33 hostages despite collecting a N50 million ransom.
During Wednesday’s visit, Lawal expressed condolences to the families of victims and reaffirmed his administration’s determination to end insecurity in the state.
“I want to reaffirm my administration’s commitment to increasing our efforts in the fight against banditry,” he said. “May Allah expose and shame those responsible for these brutal attacks and senseless killings.”
The governor said the assailants were intentionally carrying out the attacks to instil fear in residents and urged communities to remain prayerful. He also pledged to improve basic infrastructure, including road networks, electricity supply, potable water, and mobile communication services in the affected areas.
The Emir of Kauran Namoda, Sunusi Ahmad, commended the governor for his swift response to security challenges and his solidarity with the victims.
