Nigerian Film Corporation Denies Death Rumors of Ali Nuhu
The Nigerian Film Corporation has dismissed rumors of Managing Director Ali Nuhu’s death.
Officials confirmed he is alive, healthy, and actively performing duties, warning against spreading false reports.
The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) has refuted widespread rumors claiming that its Managing Director, Dr. Ali Nuhu, has passed away.

The speculation began after a Facebook user, Ifeoma Chigbo, shared a video claiming Nuhu had passed away, though she expressed hope the news was untrue. Shortly after, another post surfaced online alleging that the veteran actor and filmmaker was killed in a car accident.
Responding in a statement on Monday, Brian Etuk, Director of Public Affairs at the NFC, described the claims as “false and malicious,” stressing that Nuhu is alive and actively discharging his duties.
“The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) has noted the circulation of false reports on social media claiming the death of its Managing Director/Chief Executive, Dr. Ali Nuhu. We wish to state clearly and without ambiguity that these reports, including videos featuring his images, are entirely false, malicious, and damaging,” the statement said.
“Dr. Ali Nuhu is alive, in good health, and actively performing his duties as the Chief Executive of the NFC, following his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) on February 12, 2024.”
The NFC further warned that steps are being taken to address the individuals behind the false reports.
“The NFC warns those responsible for spreading these unfounded and reckless claims, along with their sponsors, that their actions will attract serious consequences regardless of their intent. The Corporation further noted that necessary steps have already been taken to curb this harmful and unacceptable trend,” the statement added.
The Corporation also expressed gratitude to Nigerians and stakeholders for their concern and reassured the public of Nuhu’s well-being.
