FAAC has shared ₦2.001 trillion among federal, state, and local governments for July 2025.

The federal got ₦735.08bn, states ₦660.35bn, councils ₦485.04bn, and oil states ₦120.36bn.

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has disbursed a total of N2.001 trillion among the three tiers of government, federal, state, and local councils, for July 2025. This allocation was confirmed during FAAC’s August meeting in Abuja, as stated in a communiqué issued by the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.

  • Statutory Revenue: N1.283 trillion
  • Value Added Tax (VAT): N640.610 billion
  • Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL): N37.601 billion
  • Exchange Difference: N39.745 billion

In July, the gross statutory revenue reached N3.070 trillion, reflecting a decrease of N415.108 billion from the N3.485 trillion recorded in June. On the other hand, VAT collections experienced a slight increase, rising to NN687.940 billion in July, compared to N678.165 billion in June, with a total increase of N9.775 billion.

The report said petroleum taxes, oil and gas royalties, EMTL, and excise duties went up, while VAT and import duties rose slightly. But company income tax and CET levies went down.

From the N2.001 trillion in distributable revenue, the allocations for the three tiers of government were as follows:

  • Federal Government: N735.081 billion
  • State Governments: N660.349 billion
  • Local Government Councils: NN485.039 billion
  • Derivation (13% of mineral revenue to oil-producing states): NN120.359 billion

Further details reveal that out of the N1.283 trillion in statutory revenue:

  • The Federal Government received NN613.805 billion,
  • States received NN311.330 billion,
  • Local councils obtained N240.023 billion,
  • Oil-producing states shared N117.714 billion as part of the 13% derivation.

From the N640.610 billion in VAT revenue:

  • The Federal Government received N96.092 billion,
  • States received NN320.305 billion,
  • Local councils obtained NN224.214 billion.

Under the N37.601 billion in EMTL revenue:

  • The Federal Government received N5.640 billion,
  • States received N18.801 billion,
  • Local councils obtained N13.160 billion.

For the N39.745 billion from the exchange difference, allocations were as follows:

  • The Federal Government received N19.544 billion,
  • States received N9.913 billion,
  • Local councils obtained N7.643 billion,
  • Oil-producing states received N2.643 billion as part of the 13% derivation.

Despite the decline in gross statutory revenue compared to June, the July allocation reflects relatively stable inflows supported by higher petroleum taxes and royalties. FAAC has consistently emphasized the importance of states and local councils improving their internal revenue generation to reduce overreliance on federal allocations.
