Mr Eazi has dismissed claims that his new song is to recover money from his wedding to Temi Otedola.
He joked that music couldn’t fund such a wedding and reflected on past financial struggles.
Nigerian singer and entrepreneur, Mr Eazi, has responded to social media claims suggesting he is trying to recover money spent on his wedding to Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola.
The conversation began after an X user alleged that his latest single, “Cassanova,” was a means to recoup wedding expenses. Reacting, Mr Eazi dismissed the claim with humor, writing: “U think sey music go fit pay for that wedding my G? lol.”
Another user, however, argued that his music earnings from 2018 alone could have covered the wedding costs. Addressing that point, Mr Eazi admitted that while he had a successful run of hit songs in 2017–2018, it was ironically the most financially difficult period in his career.
“You got a point tho, but 2017–18 is the brokest I’ve been in the last 9 years! But all the music I put out then enter like mad sha, I’m really thankful,” he explained.
Mr Eazi and Temi Otedola tied the knot in a private ceremony in Iceland earlier this year, after their engagement in April 2022 in London. He has previously revealed that he met Temi through her elder sister, DJ Cuppy.
