EFCC Disowns Ex-Staff Caught on Matchmaking Show, Orders Arrest
The EFCC has distanced itself from ex-staff Olakunle Folarin, who appeared on a matchmaking show.
The agency said he was dismissed for forgery and ordered his arrest for withholding official items.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has disowned the actions of a former employee, Olakunle Alex Folarin, who recently surfaced on a matchmaking show streamed on Leke Miami’s social media pages.
In a statement released by the Commission, officials stressed that Folarin is no longer in its service, explaining that he was dismissed from the Ibadan Zonal Office where he worked as a driver after being found guilty of forging academic credentials.
The EFCC also revealed that its chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has directed security operatives to arrest Folarin following reports that he retained official items belonging to the agency, including his identity card, which should have been returned after his termination.
The anti-graft body urged the public not to associate Folarin’s personal activities after his dismissal with the image or operations of the Commission.
