INEC announced that the physical phase of the CVR exercise began on Monday across 811 designated centres, covering all 774 local government areas and state offices. New applicants and those who pre-registered online are required to visit these centres to complete their enrolment, including biometric capture.
The Commission also reiterated that Nigerians can transfer their registration within or across states, as well as replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), during the exercise. Registration runs Mondays to Fridays, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Only citizens aged 18 and above who have never registered before are eligible, while special provisions are in place to support people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. INEC’s portal (www.cvr.inecnigeria.org) continues to provide online services including pre-registration, checking PVC status, locating registration centres, and updating personal details.
