Brazil Approves Air Peace Direct Flight Between Lagos and São Paulo

Brazil has approved Air Peace to operate direct Lagos–São Paulo flights, deepening aviation and trade relations with Nigeria.

President Lula hailed the move as vital for economic, cultural, and social cooperation between both nations.

Brazil has granted approval for Nigerian carrier Air Peace to operate a direct flight linking Lagos and São Paulo, marking a new chapter in the air travel and trade relationship between both nations.

Speaking during a joint press conference with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Brasília, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva welcomed the renewed partnership between the two countries. He emphasized that, at a time when global protectionist policies are re-emerging, Nigeria and Brazil remain committed to free trade, cooperation, and a fairer international order.

President Lula highlighted the vast opportunities for collaboration across multiple sectors, including agriculture, livestock, energy, fertilizers, aviation, and industrial equipment, noting that both countries home to the world’s largest Black populations share natural grounds for stronger cooperation.

On the recently signed Bilateral Air Service Agreement, he described the introduction of direct flights as a crucial step in strengthening social, cultural, and economic ties between Nigerians and Brazilians.
