Senator Urges Nigerians to Return to Farming to End Hunger
Senator Francis Fadahunsi has urged Nigerians to embrace farming as a solution to the hunger crisis.
He commended President Tinubu’s poverty reduction measures and stressed voter registration for stronger governance.
Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industry, Senator Francis Fadahunsi, has appealed to Nigerians to return to farming as a way to address the ongoing hunger crisis in the country.

Speaking with journalists in Ilase-Ijesa, Osun State, on Tuesday, the lawmaker representing Osun East stressed that food sufficiency is crucial to reducing the hardship facing families nationwide.
“I am farming. Everybody should farm. If there is no hunger, automatically, we will be thinking right,” Fadahunsi said, adding that widespread agricultural involvement would ease pressure on households and promote national development.
The senator commended President Bola Tinubu for implementing parts of the recommendations on poverty reduction, expressing optimism that Nigerians would begin to feel relief before the year ends. He explained that at a recent National Economic Council (NEC) meeting, the President directed state governors to invest more in local communities.
“That’s an executive order, and I am very sure any governor that does not do that will lose his credibility because of the quantum of money being allocated to them,” he noted.
Fadahunsi also urged eligible Nigerians to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, stressing that voter inclusion is vital for effective governance.
“I have personally gone around to ensure stakeholders are actively on board reaching kings, custodians of culture, and community leaders,” he said. He encouraged all residents, including long-time settlers such as Hausa farmers, Fulani herdsmen, and the Igedes, to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
