Tinubu Returns to Abuja After Official Visits to Japan and Brazil
President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja after trips to Japan and Brazil focused on strengthening bilateral ties.
He secured agreements on trade, energy, agriculture, and technology to boost Nigeria’s global competitiveness.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Abuja early on Thursday, August 28, 2025, after concluding official trips to Japan and Brazil.

The President, who had embarked on the visits to strengthen bilateral ties and advance Nigeria’s economic diplomacy, was received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by top government officials and members of his cabinet.


During his stay in Japan, President Tinubu engaged with Japanese leaders and investors on technology partnerships, infrastructure development, and trade opportunities aimed at boosting Nigeria’s industrial base. He also held meetings to deepen cooperation in energy and education.
In Brazil, the President signed several agreements focused on agricultural collaboration, renewable energy, and cultural exchange. Tinubu assured Brazilian partners of Nigeria’s readiness to expand trade relations, stressing that his administration’s economic reforms were creating an open and transparent business climate.
Government sources said the visits were part of ongoing efforts to reposition Nigeria as a competitive global economy and attract sustainable foreign investments.
The President is expected to brief Nigerians on the outcomes of both trips in the coming days.
