EFCC Arrests 38 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Lagos Raid
The EFCC has arrested 38 suspects in Lagos over alleged internet fraud following a raid in Ikorodu.
Operatives recovered cars, phones, and drugs, vowing to prosecute and intensify nationwide cybercrime crackdowns.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced the arrest of 38 individuals allegedly involved in internet fraud schemes in Lagos State.

According to the anti-graft agency, operatives from the Lagos Zonal Command carried out the raid on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Mambillah Hotel located on Omodisu Street, Ikorodu. The operation followed weeks of intelligence gathering and surveillance on suspected cybercrime activities within the area.
During the sting operation, investigators recovered several items linked to fraudulent practices. Among the seized exhibits were cars, mobile phones, and a number of substances identified as psychoactive and controlled drugs. The EFCC disclosed that all suspects are currently being profiled and interrogated.
The agency explained that the arrests form part of its ongoing nationwide efforts to clamp down on cybercrime, which continues to thrive among young people.
In recent years, EFCC operatives have carried out similar large-scale operations across major cities such as Abuja, Benin, Port Harcourt, and Ibadan, leading to hundreds of arrests and multiple convictions.
