The law, titled “A Bill for a Law to Create the Seal of Adamawa and Regulate Its Use 2025,” outlines the seal’s design, protection, and usage.

It will now serve as the state’s official insignia, symbolising government authority, cultural heritage, and collective aspirations.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Governor Fintiri described the development as historic, stressing that the seal represents much more than just an emblem.

“This is not just a seal, but a statement of identity, dignity, and responsibility for all who serve under it,” he said.

The seal incorporates symbols that reflect Adamawa’s history, traditions, and socio-economic strengths. Key elements include:

  • Kakaki – symbolizing power, authority, and royalty.
  • Spear – representing warrior heritage and past victories.
  • Horse – denoting royalty, courage, and tradition.
  • 21 Stars – represents the 21 local government areas.
  • Lion – symbolizing strength, leadership, and chiefdoms.
  • Book and academic hat – reflects knowledge and educational pursuit.
  • Cattle and crops – represents agriculture and food security.
  • Fisherman – honoring the contributions of riverine communities.

Governor Fintiri said the seal is designed to tell the story of Adamawa’s people their courage, intellect, resources, and unity. “It belongs to every citizen of Adamawa and must therefore be treated with the reverence it deserves,” he added.
