Oluwo of Iwo Rejects Marijuana Allegations, Vows Not to Be Distracted
Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has dismissed viral claims accusing him of smoking marijuana.
He described the allegations as malicious lies from detractors, insisting his throne remains divinely ordained.
The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, has spoken against the claims of him taking marijuana.
Addressing a public gathering in a viral video, the monarch described the claims as false and malicious. He insisted they were fabricated by “unfortunate individuals” determined to tarnish his image.

“They are lying against me. They are unfortunate people. Unless I am smoking marijuana. If I’m a smoker, God should remove me from this throne. You, who are accusing me of being a smoker, God will punish you,” Oba Akanbi declared.
The traditional ruler, while celebrating the court’s verdict, maintained that his reign is divinely ordained. “My throne is from God. No man can undo what God has established,” he said.
Oba Akanbi concluded by stressing that the smear campaign would not distract him from his responsibilities as king. “The accusations are nothing but lies meant to tarnish my name, but they cannot shake what God has already blessed,” he added.
