The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the Rotunda Hall of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja, introduced commissioners for the South West Development Commission (SWDC), the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), and the South South Development Commission (SSDC).

One of the appointees, Dr. Jide Martins Adewinle, will serve as Ondo State’s representative on the board of the SWDC. Speaking after his oath of office, Adewinle described the appointment as a collective success for Ondo State and the South West region, promising to pursue meaningful development that touches all sectors.

He said the role was “an invitation to close divides, build cooperation, and drive a new wave of progress in the South West.” According to him, he would work closely with other commissioners, government stakeholders, and the Federal Government to achieve the commission’s objectives of regional integration, environmental protection, social cohesion, and economic advancement.

Adewinle further expressed gratitude to Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, political leaders, and citizens both at home and in the diaspora for their trust and encouragement. He dedicated the appointment to his family while assuring that he would not take the responsibility lightly.
