Osas Ighodaro has revealed her first Nollywood kiss was awkward after a co-actor used his tongue.
She said intimate scenes should be discussed beforehand to avoid discomfort and unexpected surprises.
Nollywood actress Osas Ighodaro has opened up about the awkwardness of her very first on-screen kiss in the Nigerian film industry.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Culture League podcast, Osas recalled relocating from the United States to Nigeria in 2012 and being taken aback by her first Nollywood kiss scene. According to her, the moment turned uncomfortable when her fellow actor attempted to use his tongue.
“My first on-screen kiss in Nigeria took me by surprise. Though, I knew the kiss was coming and I was prepared for an ‘on-screen kiss.’ In my experience, you are not supposed to put your tongue down somebody’s mouth. But the person did,” she said.
She added that such intimate moments require prior discussion between actors. “On the basic level, if you are going to do an on-screen kiss you talk about it, ‘Oh I’m going to put my tongue in your mouth.’ But if you don’t talk about it then you know it’s the basics.” Osas described the incident as her first rude shock in Nollywood.
