Police Arrest Two Suspected Assassins Hired by Man to Kill His Ex-Wife’s Husband in Niger State
Niger State Police have arrested two suspected assassins accused of being hired to kill a man in Beji.
Authorities say they were contracted by a rival angered his ex-wife remarried the intended victim.
The Niger State Police Command has paraded two suspected hired assassins allegedly contracted to kill a man for marrying another man’s former wife.

Police spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Saturday, August 30, 2025, identifying the suspects as 40-year-old Muhammad Mohammed and 35-year-old Mohammed Usman, both residents of Beji in Bosso Local Government Area.
According to him, the suspects were apprehended around 12:45 a.m. on August 23, when a police patrol team working with local vigilantes intercepted them at the railway crossing in Beji. A locally made pistol, one live cartridge, and ₦13,000 were reportedly found in their possession.
During questioning, the duo allegedly admitted they were contracted by one “Dogo,” also of Beji, who wanted a man eliminated for marrying his ex-wife. Abiodun explained that the suspects claimed Dogo had agreed to pay them ₦100,000 for the job and had already advanced ₦13,000 as transport expenses.
“They told investigators that they were heading to collect the balance from Dogo before carrying out the assignment when security operatives intercepted them,” the statement added.
The suspects are currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) after initial interrogation at Maikunkele Division. Police also disclosed that efforts are ongoing to track and arrest the alleged mastermind, Dogo.
